A Tribute to those who gave their lives that others might live on 9-11-01

A Tribute

It was no random choice of dates that the terrorist attack on The World Trade Center and the Pentagon came on September 11, 2001; 911. But rather a purposeful, deliberate reminder to us all that we rely on 911 in emergencies; disasters, heart attacks, automobile accidents... No, it was no accident that they perpetrated the worst man made disaster in the United States on that date because they wanted us to know that it was futile to call 911; that our would be helpers would be struck down by them. That help wouldn't come.

Well, 911 is working just fine and police, firemen and emergency workers are still saving lives, preventing further destruction and preventing disasters. We can call 911 and help will be on it's way in minutes.

So let us reflect a moment and pay tribute to those who gave their lives on September 11, 2001, trying to save others; the New York City Police, the New York City Firemen, emergency workers, private citizens and others, that their worthy intentions, their valiant efforts will not go unnoticed and they did not die in vein. Though we did not know them personally, they made the ultimate sacrifice that others might live and we do not need to know them personally to say, "Thanks!"

If you have an emergency you can call 911 and be assured that help will be on the way. And when you do call, know that the fire departments, police departments, paramedics and others are putting their lives on the line; that should not be taken for granted. 911 is a privledge that the citizens of the United States enjoy and the price is dear. Do not abuse it. And remember those who died on September 11, 2001, 911, who paid the ultimate price...

GypsyWitch and Jack Pearson "Thanks!"
